How much should a 10 1/2 month old be eating? I feed Purina pro plan salmon sport. My puppy is getting heavy and I’m worried I’m feeding too much. I don’t think I’m exercising her enough, which could be part of the problem. HELP!

There is a saying " feed the dog infrint of you". Food manufacturers always go on the top side, they want you to buy more. Cut it back a bit and look at your dogs excerise. How much excerise are they getting now?

It was a daily walk of 2 miles but now it’s cut back to twice a week so to the heat.

I agree with Edp - don't worry about what the packet says, just take a look at your dog, and adjust what you're doing accordingly. Some dogs need a lot of food... others do brilliantly on relatively little :)

Pippa gives a nice detailed description of how to judge your dog's weight 'by eye' (and by feel) in this article. :)
