Hi there folks... wasn't sure which thread food went into so apologies if it's not this one! Bob was weaned on CSJ Little Champ and has been fine on it until I ordered a new sack the other week. For some reason since we got this new sack, he's been leaving some dinner and not been interested in it as a treat either! He just spits them out! I'm going to call the company tomorrow and find out if they have changed their recipe or something along those lines because this is NOT like Bob at ALL! I wondered also if perhaps he had an icky tummy and that had affected his appetite as he hasn't been interested much in his pigs ear evening treat recently either. We are going to give him a chicken drumstick tonight, see how that goes down. Not sure what to do... he's 6 months. Is now a good time to move him onto something else do you think? Maybe some adult food? We could use the sack of CSJ we've got to gradually move him over. I'm really confused as to what to do. He seems OK in himself. Thanks for any advice... Lou x
Re: Food issue Most company's have a "money back guarantee" if you're willing to do deal with taking it back, etc. Depending on your dog, the food you feed, and so many other factors....they can be transitioned to an adult food pretty easily. Some brands even have "all life stages" foods...so read up on the brand you have, and confirm with your vet. In my opinion (I'm not a vet - but an informed consumer), if it's a high quality food, and your dog is growing well and has no health conditions - transitioning to an adult food around 6 months is no worry at all. But that's just me...
Re: Food issue Could be a bag that has "gone off" due to a hole or split in the bag? I changed Maisie over to adult food at 6 months, with no problem at all.
Re: Food issue I changed my dogs onto adult food at 6 months. Back in the day, there wasn't puppy or junior, just all the same and the dogs were fine.
Re: Food issue Harley goes through stages of not eating all her kibble, and she goes off treats too. The first 2 times I gave her different kibble / treats but it didn't make a difference. When she does this now, I don't give her anything else except her meals for a few days and either she's hungry so eats it, or realises that I'm not going to give in
Re: Food issue I'm on CSJ as well - just moving Pongo from Little Champ to Adult now. (A bit late at 12 months but hey.) We've had no problem at all. If Bob is not wanting to eat anything (even treats or chicken drumsticks!) it sounds more like he's got an upset tum for some other reason. But if it is just the kibble, I'd give CSJ a call - they were very helpful when I had a problem with delivery one time, so they may well be able to resolve. Let us know how you get on - if they've changed the recipe I'd be interested to know that too! Rosie
