The OP said her pup was showing signs of dominance aggression, growls when he takes things in his mouth, when trying take it back.
    [/quote]

Nothing Teena has ever said about Cooper indicates he is aggressive (although this is a worry for her, which she has often been reassured about).

It is difficult to understand the feeding guide. One Royal Canin measuring cup is 96g of the food you feed. But it's fine to feed less than the recommended amounts. You are feeding Cooper the same as I feed Charlie when he is only on lead walks, and Cooper is a smaller dog. So I'd say you are doing ok, and Cooper looks fine. In my experience of feeding a very similar food, if Cooper gets extras and treats too, make sure he is not getting too much.

I think Royal Canin large breed puppy should be fine for Cooper. It's a good quality kibble, and he looks well on it.

    You're doing great.

In terms of Cooper growling when you try to take things away from him, did you read Lisa's post to you about how she dealt with this for Simba? That might help if you look back at that.

This food is suiting him Teena Ann , so its best to keep him on the one he is used to, he looks very good on it too :) :)
You say he growls Teena Ann , is this just in play do you think ? Labrador pups do love us to play with them and love to play tug games too, so maybe this is Coopers idea of fun ?
if you think its not play and that he is being dominant , then try bartering with him , offer him a swap for maybe a tiny piece of cheese or a treat , then when he gives you what he has, give him the treat and tell him what a very good boy he is , you are doing very well with him, he looks great :)

I am sorry if I have upset anyone in response to this thread, but I see growling in a 10 month old pup particularly when in Possession as dominance.

We are getting away from the original post about how much food to feed?

Teena, you are doing fine, Cooper looks good on the food. Don't worry about the amounts? Better to feed less than more, and it will save you money. LOL

In cup measurements, the recommended amount for a 10 month old pup, who will be 25kg when all grown up, is a little over 3 cups a day.

    Thanks Teena,
The amount you should be feeding according to the packet is,
At 10 months and finished Adult weight of 26kg is 324grams a day,or 3+3/8 cup.
or at 10 months and finished Adult weight of 30kg is 362 grams a day.or 3+6/8 cup.

I think you were feeding 1 cup twice a day, a cup according to the packet is 96 grams so you are feeding 192 grams a day.

Teena Ann, Cooper looks perfect and I would stick with the amounts you are feeding. What is written on the pack is just a guide. It is important not to over feed him.

Teena I think he is perfect too.
I'm not sure if you have seen us discuss this before, but we mostly agree (apart from REALLY active dogs) that the amounts on the packet are normally MORE than we need to feed our dogs.
You stick with what you are doing! Clearly its working fine for Cooper! :)

What a gorgeous looking dog! Looks lovely and healthy. and has a beautiful shiny coat! .I am forever worrying about our pup..and whether we are feeding enough/too much..so maybe it is natural as I am quite new to keeping dogs :)

Cooper looks great to me too, Teena Ann! Great to hear from you! Sounds like you are feeding him the right amount, and he looks good, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Food quantities for 10 month old pup

Thank you so much everybody im so happy to hear from y'all tat im doin a great work wid Cooper which i thought was not but hearing it from u guys makes me and Cooper very proud tdy he had 2 cups to my surprise bcoz i added liver chunks he was pleased wid it nd was left wanting for more but i stopped with 2 cups and yes u were ryt abt the feeding guide its jus a rough idea 3 cups a day means dividing tat 3 cups for 2 meals which is 1.5 cups per meal (hope im right) which is as same as wat i give Coop so im relieved abt it.
One request i jus want to see pics of each and evry1 of you guys and ur dog hope im not asking too much by saying so im gonna post another pic of Cooper... tc
