I have decided enough is enough with the front door mugging. When my friend arrived today (has 2 dogs herself) I decided I would see if my two could sit and wait when the door bell rang. I had 2 lovely treats ready in the hall. Door bell rang lots of barking, jumping. I told them to 'SIT' and 'WAIT' which they both did. Friend entered and did not speak or show them any attention, we moved into the kitchen where they followed but no jumping, she told them to 'SIT' then treated. Both did it - hurray!! Will keep it up, fingers crossed ;) Helen x p.s. hope that is the right way to handle it!

Sounds good to me Helen :) Glad that they both reacted well for you and your friend . I dont have this problem , not due to any training on my part so I cant take any credit, its just that my black lump just ambles up , wags his tail a couple of times and thats it , he isnt a fussy boy at all unlike my last Lab who loved meeting and greeting :)
