Harley has frozen tail again. We went out today and within 40 mins I noticed she was holding her tail awkwardly so made our way back to the car. Back home she has struggled to sit or get comfortable I gave her metacam to try and ease it but she's really struggling so just called the out if hours vets who confirmed I could give her Tramadol for tonight. Really hope it helps her settle soon. She really has been through the wars recently
Can you figure out how and why she is getting it in the first place? Is she sitting funny, all cramped up in the car maybe? It must hurt quite a bit, Oban whimpered at night and you know how stoic dogs are. Poor girlie, hope it eases soon.
We don't know any reason. She has plenty of room in the car. She was running around in the long grass and in the water (only just comes up to the bottom of her belly) and it just happened. It's done this before for no apparent reason . I wish there was something I could identify as I could then stop it happening. We are off to bed in a minute so I hope she will settle x
We've had a very restless night and day so far. Harley has hardly slept and is clearly in a lot of pain. We are off to the vets in a minute
Just back from the vets (seems like a recurring phrase at the minute!). It's definately frozen tail. They have given her diazepam for 2 days to try and help the swelling and we have to keep up with the metacam daily for a few days. I hope it helps as its so horrible to see her like this. Short lead walks only for a few days too.
Poor Harley. I wish the vet had some idea what's causing it. I could understand if she was spending a lot of time swimming in cold water, but this is really strange.
