Ah Ternaya....what a run you've had ....frozen tail is not fun.....I wonder if it's a bit like human injury and recurs because it's been weakened? A bit like my ankle after I ripped all the ligaments...I just need to go over on a flip flop now and it flares up....
You've got a really happy dog that just loves to wag her tail xxx

    Thanks all
Harley had a better nights sleep and seems a bit happier today. She has brought me a ball a few times and we have played a gentle game of catch (she sits about 2 foot in front of me, I throw her the ball, she catches and drops into my hand!), she loves playing this for some reason! My daughter has now finished uni so is back home and took Harley for a lead walk earlier Fingers crossed she is on the mend.
The vet did say as she's had this twice before, she is probably more susceptible to it so we do need to keep an eye on it

Glad she seems to be improving gradually. It's a strange condition isn't it - is it inflammation of some sort?

Glad Harley is feeling a little better. You must be thrilled to have Orianna home, Grace has finished too but not back for a couple of weeks.

Yes, it's inflammation at the base of the tail..........similar to muscle strain which then goes into spasm.

We have more of a wag this morning

The last 3 years have gone really quickly! Her graduation is on 12th July.......10 days after her 21st birthday.

@charlie - must be quite strange for you.......one coming and one going. Where is Joseph going to uni?

Glad Harley is feeling a little better.

Scott is also finishing up his 3rd year, but he still has another 2 to go!
He is absolutely loving Uni and doing medicine and is totally determined to be a surgeon - just loves being in theatre :)
    That's boys for you!

You both must be so proud of Orianna and Grace @Naya and @charlie xx
    (not to mention Joseph!)

Our dogs (Ginger and Tilly) have had Cold Tail a few times after too much swimming. It never seemed to hurt them significantly and went away in less than a week. We try to keep them from swimming that much, but I think they are actually a marine mammal. Cooper has not experienced it yet.

Cold tail without knowing the cause would be more concerning. I'm glad Harley is getting better.

I believe Lilly had a mild case following an examination - involving her lady bits and a temp check.
Due to me holding her tail out the way possibly??
No one else was sure but I was convinced.

No problem Helen. Good to hear about them all :)

Unfortunately Harley seems to not be so good today. She had 30 mins off lead (but no running around) just mooching and it seems to be a bit sore again tonight :(. Feel really sad for her :|

Oh poor Harley, I have no experience of this but it does sound horrible for the dogs, also for the owners too.
Does it affect all the tail?
Hope she is on the mend soon xxx

Poor girl, this sounds like such an awful condition and not something I have experience of. I hope she feels better soon. :(
