Exactly! That's just what Tuppence did a while ago when I was loading the dishwasher and both dogs were hovering, despite not (well, almost not) being allowed to pre-wash. She fled out of the kitchen and up the stairs, still attached to the drawer, which eventually detached itself halfway up the stairs. I was sure I'd find her with broken legs or some other disaster when she was cowering on the landing, but thankfully she was completely unscathed. The only mishap was that I bit my tongue when she clunked me under the chin as she lurched towards me, licking me frantically as I knelt on the top stair tread trying to check her over. The lower drawer has never really recovered and both dogs now leave the kitchen when I load the dishwasher!
Poor Lucky is missing out! He doesn't get to lick plates, but I'm vegetarian so it probably wouldn't be much fun! Except for if there's cheese... He does get bit of things in his bowl if I'm eating something he can also eat.
My husband and I are both vegetarian. The freezer is full of raw meat and bones for Snowie. And yet I think sometimes Snowie would gladly be vegan - you should hear him moaning and begging for vegetables.
Lucky does like carrots, apples, etc. I think cheese is the only thing that he goes crazy for, and peanut butter. And same here, I have chicken, sausages and tinned fish etc just for him! The first time I made him chicken and rice I had to google how to cook chicken! The things we do for our dogs
I do draw the line at cooking. Can't stand the smell. And don't want my pots used for meat. Snowie gets all his food raw. But, yes - the things we do for our dogs!!
I completely understand - for anything for Lucky with meat/fish we have a separate pan, knives, chopping board, and even tupperware!
Us, too. And his implements are kept in the outside storeroom. Also a separate can opener for the tins of fish. I'm guessing the non-vegetarians on this forum must think we're bonkers! But to me this is completely normal. We have a family member who only eats chicken, carrots, and peas. He can't stomach anything remotely creatively vegetarian. So much so that he now refuses to come to us for dinner. We did say he was welcome to eat with Snowie, but it would mean eating his meat raw and out of Snowie's bowl in the garden. Luckily he does have a sense of humour!
All of our dogs have eaten lots of veggies. Carrots are a training treat. They love Mandarine orange slices, and we always have to share. Tilly draws the line at most sour salad dressing, but Cooper will eat salads with Italian dressing.
Shadow still looks at me as if I'm trying to poison him when I give him vegetables. When people say "I use carrot as a training treat", I think of Shadow's face if I tried that and nearly wet my pants.
Last night Quinn put her head into the garbage and pulled out a steak bone (she must not have been able to resist that smell)...firs time she has tasted any such thing! I swapped it for some red pepper. Her face was like WHAT! I was tricked!
