Re: Furminator
When do we get one for hollie?
When she starts shedding? ???
Re: Furminator I got a vet uk version of a furminator. Looks exactly the same, does the same job but quite a bit cheaper. www.vetuk.co.uk
Re: Furminator I hesitate to use one again, we had one for Mollie Retriever cross she absolutely hated it, ended up using a gentler brush and comb. Wasn't cheap either and after a few failed attempts we gave up. Won't be using one on Elsie will stick with a rubber brush which seems gentler.
Re: Furminator I like ours but it only gets used every now and then I'm sure we could survive with a cheaper alternative I don't think I took it to Riley's coat until almost 9 months, before that we just used a standard brush.
Re: Furminator
I don't use one - I find a Zoom Groom is fine for my two
I got one of those, Bouncer thinks its a chew toy. Maybe becuase its got Kong written on it?
Re: Furminator
I got one of those, Bouncer thinks its a chew toy.
Bouncer sounds a little mischief, love him! We don't have the lovely thick coat that the dogs that live with cooler weather have so a once over with a mitt does for us ....
Re: Furminator Pongo chewed and wanted to play with every brush.... but he loves the furminator. We started using it when he was about 6 months I think.... He stands still and leeeeeeeeeeannnnnnnnnns into it. And then tries to chase all the bundles of fur that have come off. Mind you, I don't know if it has really reduced the amount of hair on the floor. I feel like the house is turning into a labrador. R
Re: Furminator Another vote for the zoom groom! I spent a fortune on combs (and a furminator) but in the end found the most effective method for us was to use the zoom groom to loosen up all the dead hairs and bring them to the top, followed by a simple fine toothed flea comb to remove the loose hairs.
Re: Furminator Another Zoom Groon fan here. You can be quite vigorous with it without the risk of scratching the dog.
Re: Furminator I have a zoom groom too. Started with one of those cheap mikki mittens first - might be less "toy like". Does a good job, cheap as chips.....
