    Hi all,

My names Dan, just today places a deposit on a rather mischievous yellow lab dog. Collection in the 2nd week in January, can’t wait for the little guy.

One question I’ve had dalmatians, GS and Doberman’s in the past, just wondering if there’s anything I need to know in terms of difference with upbringing with a Lab?

    Any help is most welcome

Hi Daniel, Welcome to the forum! And congratulations on your impending arrival!

The main difference is probably in terms of sociableness :) Labs can be rather over enthusiastic about meeting and greeting everyone, other dogs as well as humans. They can also be rather bitey as puppies, but this is true for a lot of other breeds as well.

As Jade says though, it's similar for most dogs. Training, socialization and lots of time and attention :)

Do keep us updated! And let us know if you have any questions when your new puppy arrives!
