G'Day all, Will here from downunder. Having had a bad experience with a previous puppy which we got to complete our family of four (girl now 9, boy 7) my wife and I decided we would go for a lab and rescue one. We have looked and bided our time till we found and rescued Roger, a 5 yo yellow. Roger has been very overweight. He spent the previous 3 weeks at a foster home connected to the animal welfare league. He has his paper and full set of vet records, he's desexed and thoroughly wormed etc. His temperament is what clinched it for us, he is just beautiful, mellow, affectionate, very dutiful and responding to discipline. He's settled no in to our place well and the kids love him. He's getting two 40min walks a day and is a delight to walk with the halti (he's a bit of a sled dog on the leash alone). He's a bit anxious with other dogs but it never turns into any fighting at the dog park, he seemed to really enjoy meeting other dogs but gets a bit vocal when walking. I have a few questions (well lots really) but I thought best to start with a full intro and take it from there. Great site and friendly community - bit like our neighbourhood, so thanks for such a great resource. Best regards, Will

Re: G'Day Thanks for the hearty welcome guys, I will ask a few questions in the appropriate areas. Some basic health stuff first. I think we've got the basics as both of us have had dog experience before but a pure bred lab is a whole new world, let alone one with some history to overcome! W
