Oh wow, it has been going on a long time. So sorry to hear. I heard of a dermatologist specialist vet who used to remove anal glands, apparently they caused a lot of itchiness. But I have also read that because of their location, a wrong incision can cause worse damage, so removal is not recommended unless absolutely necessary. Of course, only what I've read -- hopefully your vet will be able to give you the best advice so this problem is put behind you (funny how one unconsciously selects just the right words!)

Oh good. Hopefully they'll be pleased with her progress and the ABs will see her right :)

Got her results back today, she had 3 types of bacteria in her abcess, one was ecoli and another was a common and and the other was a rare but treatable one so she's on a different course of anti biotics for 3 week I'm going ask the vet in more detail she's on anti inflammitory still and I've bought her a big tub of fibre for dogs to help prevent this! Not sure how ecoli got into her abcess maybe swimming? Or licking her bum will see in a few week she's more herself though now very playful again but the vet said what she had is more common in male dogs and German Shepards

I hope she continues to improve and get back to normal. At least now you have the results and they can treat it.

e coli is a very common bacteria in the environment. Great news that you've isolated the bacteria, with targeted treatment hopefully you can put this yucky abscess to bed. Best wishes x

Sounds really positive - keeping our fingers and paws crossed for you she doesn't need a biopsy.
