I let Charlie off lead through the fenced walk way between the paddocks we use which I do every day, but today he spotted something and shot under the gate even though I shouted 'NO', he went into the next field and up a small hill to the hedge row, but when I shouted "Charlie come" he stopped and shot straight back under the gate at full speed straight back to me where he received lots of praise. Good boy or naughty boy? eemm ??? Helen x
Re: Good boy or Naughty boy? Must be the day for it. Lilly jumped a fence on the trail of something this afternoon (NEVER gone over here before, got lifted over just the once on a walk when she was quite young). I was just about to panic but just started walking back the way we came, and she too came back on calling - phew! In fact, made the most wonderful graceful leap over the fence on the way back (bad hips, what bad hips?). I think the snow has made them all a bit loopy : jac
Re: Good boy or Naughty boy? Definately good boy Helen, he did some back :I cant blame snow, none down here, boo hoo , but lots of heavy frost and it must be something in the air because Sam was a little devil this morning, in the nicest possible way
Re: Good boy or Naughty boy? Good boy definitely, he absolutely redeemed himself. I too had a brilliant recall this morning. Digby is only 5 months so I don't like to use recall unless he already has movement towards me when outside and off lead. We crossed paths with a small white fluffy dog (I have no idea what it is, I'm not very up on dog breeds). Anyway, as the dogs owner/walker moved along quite quickly I did too but Digby had other ideas and was determined to play. Without thinking (so easy) I called him and he looked up and immediately shot over to me at full pelt. Lots of praise and a treat, he then walked happily on with me - still off lead. Chuffed me.
Re: Good boy or Naughty boy? Oh Good Boy I think! If brods has spotted something he would have been off. unless it turned out to be scary...then he would be very quickly back...
