We are from Ontario, Canada. It's still morning here, and an awfully hot one. Our black Lab is Oban, named for the very pretty town in Scotland. My OH was born in Edinburgh and Oban is bench bred with some Kupros lines in him, a couple of generations back. So I guess we are international. :)

Looks like this board has a real international flavour (though mostly U.K.?) and it will be fun to learn a different slant on things from folks across the world.

A very warm welcome from me and my chocolate girl Mabel. We are in Coventry in England. Today we took Mabel to her first party in the park at Kenilworth. She managed to sneak half a sausage batch out of the grass. That'll teach me to turn my back for a second.

Hi and welcome from me and Juno, my 14 month old chocolate girl, from sunny Normandy, France. Look forward to hearing more about Oban.
Jane Martin I would guess that "bench bred" means show line in the UK

Thank you for the warm welcomes. :)

Oban will be eight in October. As of right now he is going by his alternate name of Dirty, Rotten, Stinking Dog. The phone rang, it was a friend the OH has been trying to reach so I answered and ran outside with the phone so they could speak. When I got back the computer keyboard was knocked over and the apple pit I had left wrapped up in a tissue for disposal later was gone. Disposal of that pit and tissue now postponed till they reappear. To be fair, my back was turned for more than a second. LOL

Yes, bench bred = show bred. From days when they did actually stand them all up on a bench for the judge to get a look at. I think little dogs are still put up on benches or tables.

:) Yvonne, you might guess from my name I love winter. I think yours last year was worse than ours. However I am in a snowbelt and surrounded by ski resorts and both Oban and I are hoping for lots of snow. We are looking at a humidex of 37C for today or about 100F. Ugh.

:( no photos. I did a stupid, stupid thing. I did not back up my hard drive. A few weeks ago it crashed. Apparently my data can be retrieved but the repair place has had it for three weeks now. I only have a few photos of Oban printed out. What a dummy. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Thank you folks who have responded since my last post. This is our Labour Day weekend, the holiday is today. Hope the computer repair place calls me tomorrow. I've seen a couple of messages from Lab people with pictures of their Lab(s) set up like a postcard and saying Happy Labrador Weekend. :)

Rory was my grandfather's name. Is your Rory a fox red? One meaning of Rory is apparently "red haired Chieftain" which Grandpa was.

We are looking at 40 C with the humidex today. That's about 103 F. What is it in Dubai? Is yours dry heat or is humidity a factor?

Hello and welcome from the Isle of Man - we have Belle, an 11-ish year old mongrel collie x and Coco, a 1 year old German Shepherd/Labrador x - we brought him home from rescue only 4 days ago, he's doing very well at fitting in and picking up our household ways. Look forward to seeing photos of Oban.
