Hi everyone, For those who read all of my posts on lucius' health issues over the past few months you will know we battled with many issues with him ranging from his eyesight and hip dysplasia to chronic food and skin allergies. On the 28th of Febuary we had to put our beloved Lucius to sleep. He had become suddenly sick three days before and had to be hospitalized overnight on a drip as he quickly became dehydrated. A quick blood test diagnosed him with pancreatitis. He was sent home the next day as he was doing better but by the night he had suddenly gotten worse, was very lethargic and wobbly so we knew we had to do something. By the time we got him to an emergency vet they rushed him in and twenty minutes of testing later we got the worst news... Lucius had nercotising pancreatitis and sepsis in his abdomen, and was maybe an hour away of going into septic shock. His white blood cells were gone, meaning either he had a very weak immune system to begin with or his body had been fighting this for some time and he just couldnt do it anymore. He would have had to go through two surgeries and the vet said in his condition he wouldnt have a good chance of pulling through. So, we decided to help our boy pass over the rainbow bridge. He was 5 years old and had been loved so much in that time.
