Oliver was a beautiful yellow Labrador belonging to a very good friend of mine in our village , he has gone to the bridge, aged 15 . Chris takes in boarders for holidays , they live in her home as family members and darling Oliver has played a massive part in helping nervous or anxious dogs to settle . I meet Chris often at Golitha Falls with her boarding dogs and Oliver, but had noticed his absence more and more over the past year as his arthritic legs became too sore to cope , his failing heart not up to the walks . He still enjoyed his life at home , " Mothering " the visiting dogs and generally settling them in , a wonderful character who will be sorely missed by all who were privileged to know and love him , rest easy dear boy xxx
Yes Jacqui , Chris lived alone with Oliver , she is devastated but taking her usual pragmatic approach , I don't think Oliver will be her last dog , I hope not because she has so much to offer .
What a lovely dog... I am sure he's left a big hole. But hopefully some other doggie will benefit from the care and love that your friend Chris has to give.
Oliver will have left a big gap in many lives, he sounds as if he was a very much loved dog with great character.
Sorry to hear this sad news, sounds like Oliver lived a full and loving life. Thoughts are with Chris and his many friends x
What an age! Must be leaving a huge hole in the lives! Run free, Oliver, and say hi to Euan.... Annemarie
It so sad to lose a doggie friend....I get upset just when you notice neighbourhood acquaintances are no longer out an about with a dog.....
