Good day everyone, Just wanted to say thanks for the forum and wealth of knowledge. It has been a little over 20 years since I have owned a dog, and at the end of September I will be the proud papa of a male Chocolate lab. He was born August 9th, a day before my wife's birthday, so I know I will never forgot her birthday again, good times. I have to admit the most difficult thing on the list will be trying to use the clicker training properly, from what I gather it can be used for anything, even just sitting still under a tree doing nothing. Anyways, thanks again for the wealth of knowledge and I will post pics after he gets home. Thanks, Gardiner
Hi there from a fellow Canuck (Alberta)! Looking forward to hearing your adventures! Clicker training is a great way to communicate with your pup. Have fun and keep us posted!
Hi Gardiner, Welcome from Pippa and myself. I started using a clicker yesterday after reading about it on the main website whilst at work. It was a quiet day in the office so I thought I should at least be productive. It's much easier than I first thought and Pippa seems to have made a connection with it after going through the 'charging' process. Give it a go and you may be pleasently surprised. A nice bonus with the timing of the Birthday's too. Have fun. Cheers, Pippa & Jason

Thanks for the well wishes, I am currently building Jimmeh a patch of grass in the backyard, about 75 sq feet. We spent a lot of time getting rid of our grass, and here I am a few years later adding it back in. I have no doubt about the load of work it will require as it has already started by getting the house in puppy shape. Enjoy your Monday everyone, only 39 days to meet and greet
I have an update, the breeder and I parted ways as I found a mutt that I just couldn't pass on. Her name is Lola, she is now 7.5 months old, the picture in my avatar was the picture I was sent the day I picked her up. Supposedly she is a Canary Island Mastiff (Dad) and Black Lab (mom) mix, but to me she is just a rich cholate brown lab. When people ask me how its been having a lab puppy my response goes something like this. 'I could not have sat in front of a computer and programmed a better dog' I never did the clicker training, but I did have her off leash the say after I brought her home, and to this day I walk her off leash to the point I don't even bring a lead with me anymore unless we are going to the doggie park. I cannot, in words express the utter joy and unconditional love this dog has brought to my life. Just happy how things turned out.
