Hi everyone! We got our 8 week old black lab puppy (Penny) yesterday evening! Generally going very well. Used to have dogs when I was younger, but it's the first one for my wife and I - so it's all a learning curve now it's in our own house with our own furniture haha! First night went well, so fingers crossed. Did a lot of reading on this site and bought Pippa's book a while ago, so thought I would now join the forum and have a chat with everyone. Will post a pic when I get a nice one of her! Ian
Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. It's definitely a steep learning curve bringing home your first puppy, however prepared you think you are! It sounds like you've done plenty of reading up, but you'll learn that nothing gives you experience like real life with your puppy Pippa's book is a fantastic resource and so is this forum - so many people who have gone through the things you're experiencing and can give out advice and support. Please do try and get some pictures of her; we love puppy porn
Welcome to you - Pippa's book is a great resource, I am currently re-reading it as I'm expecting a pup to arrive a week today! (Twiglet, yellow Lab X GR, seven weeks old, Guide Dog puppy)
Hi Ian, enjoy your new bundle of mischief and don't be afraid to ask questions! And we would love to see a pic....
Hi and welcome from me and 23 month old fox red lab, Harley Enjoy the puppy stage, they grow so quickly
Thanks for the welcome everyone! Penny is doing fine, sleeping well, happy to go into her create of her own free will (made it into her own little den already), and has an affinity for all stones and rocks, so we have eyes on her all the time! Will put some pics up over the weekend, she will probably be in the middle of a wrestling match with a small plastic plant pot (fave toy!) Ian
Hi Ian,welcome from me and Dexter our yellow 3 year old boy. Penny sounds lovely and great fun and it sounds like you've prepared for her arrival thoroughly. We had a stone lover too! It involved a few tweaks in the garden and an introduction to ice cubes...they seemed to be a great substitute for the clacking on the teeth tha the enjoyed x
