His trainer phoned yesterday - he's really happy and working really well, his kennel mate is called Elliot and they are best buddies
Look who I met today at our puppy class Christmas party - Kara! I had a little weep I was so pleased to see her, I really miss her. Shes seven months old now and growing into a super clever gorgeous girl xx We are going to meet up for a free run in the new year - yay!
Oh wow - she's so big! And what a wonderful grown up face she has now! What a treat that you got to see her and will see her again.
Kara having a snooze at her Puppy Walkers - she's huge! We are having a Guide Dogs coffee morning at our house tomorrow and she's coming, hopefully. I can't wait! There is a big Kara shaped space in my heart still.
Kara couldn't make it But look who came - Coffee, the pup I fundraised to name! he's a GR and 14 weeks of fluffy lovelyness
If you see a Guide Dog with a red and white chequered harness they are dual trained - so they are hearing dogs and guide dogs. The training takes longer as they go to Haering Dogs to complete their training. People with Usher's syndrome are often both deaf and blind, these dogs bring them amazing independence. This is Sam and Ike with Mandy the pup (not Mollie but she looks just like her )
Wow, how tough it must be to live in a world of darkness and silence. I bet these dogs bring so much joy.
I especially love the expression on Sam's (the black one?) face: like he knows how amazing he is but is saying, "Yes, ma'am, all in a day's work - I'm a professional, you know!"
