Thanks Granca. Needless to say I have not walked Maisie on the Cuckoo trail today :(

Fortunately the dog who found the sausages is a search dog and he made his owner aware of the sausages, thank god it wasn't any other dog. There were rumours a few weeks ago that poison had been put down on another part of the trail towards Heathfiield. Very worrying, especially when you have a dog that eats everything.

It's such a terrible thing and difficult to understand how someone could be so cruel. My two are both scavengers, particularly Tuppence.

I hope you're still able to walk Maisie safely elsewhere and that the culprit is caught.

Not that I advocate the use of violence but I hope the therapy is of the painful kind ;)

This is horrifying. It's given me a real kick up the bum to crack on with my "leave it" training.

Very, very worrying. Maisie's "leave is very good", however, if these sausages are hidden in the undergrowth I stand no chance. I walked the trail today and kept her on lead until we reached the open countryside. It appears that the sausages have been found if the town area. What worries me is that this person could be planting them anywhere, especially since the police are now upping their presence on the trail.

I'm not too sure if this is what my neighbours dog ate as we live in Surrey. However after a walk she became ill within hours of arriving home and died that night :'(

Please everyone keep an eye out when dogs are off lead!!! Everyone should be aware of the symptoms of posioning. If you suspect your dogs been poisoned get them to the vet IMMEDIATELY! It was too late for her dog, dont let the same happen to you.

Theres some sick people out there who quite frankly deserve a heavier punishment for their disgusting actions

So scary! Just today a friend has written on facebook that their friends dog was poisioned and has died after being up the westbury white horse where i walk regularly and was there earlier with maisie! I wonder though if this was deliberate as its a popular area for picnics and so its possible that the dog might have picked up some rubbish left on the ground? I hope anyway!

Well actually Im in Croydon, id just be wary as the other day I found chocolate on the field! It is a popular kids football play area. It may have been a kid being a litterbug however I told my boy to leave it before he munched on it thankfully I saw it first! Picked it all up wit a poop bag and binned it.
