    Just want to make my parents gorgeous red Irish setter Derry a little bit famous ....here he is moddelling the bandana I sent home for him,after a run of cockers , he's their 3rd red setter after an adoption.a tragic early loss ,and now Derry ... A lovely boy... Dad turned 70 in April and mum won't thank me to say she isnt far behind ....they have helped me settle Dexter in and I really appreciate their help and love them lots xxxxz

    Plus, that locked on eye contact .....if its genetic I should be able to crack it ! :D

    He is gorgeous - I don't see too many red setters here where I live. Lovely!

    Ah Thankyou all ,he is very handsome and his coat IS beautiful.You don't see so many red steers these days,children stop Mum and Dad and ask them what type of dog he is.....and he's always very good,he will sit like the photo and just be patted and admired .....

    ROFL!! You do have to admit, though, red steers aren't exactly a dime a dozen either.

    There is one Red Setter at our dog club, but I can't recall seeing another there within the last 10 years.

    Another dog you rarely see these days is the Afghan Hound.

    I know what is like to own a rare breed. Hardly anyone has ever seen or heard of a Clumber spaniel. :D Poor Ziggy has been referred to as 'lumber spaniel' and 'columber' many times. Sometimes it is hard to keep a straight face. ;D ;)
