On Monday when I got home from work I took Harley for a walk around the block and let her off lead in the field where she had a play with a choccy lab. She helped and pulled up when she was chasing him so I popped her on lead and came home. Gave her some metacam and rested her on Tuesday. Wednesday she had a few short lead walks and had massage early evening. Yesterday was off lead but very much ambling, no ball throwing or running.
She went to the park with my OH at lunch time. He dropped the ball, carried on walking with her on lead, then let her off lead and sent her back for the ball. Done this again a few mins later when she dropped the ball and helped and limped back to my OH. He gently wandered around for a few mins with her to see how she was but decided to bring her home as was worried.
She’s just had another dose of metacam and seems very out of sorts, not wanting to play or do training which she usually thrives on.
I’m going to rest her again for a few days but am starting to worry a bit. She had X-rays about 7/8 months ago and were clear. Any other suggestions on what I can do?

So sorry to read. The worst sound is a yelp of pain. Does she have a previous injury? And could you phone your vet for advice?

Oh dear, I'm sorry... which leg is she limping on? Front or back?? Have you checked her paws really carefully, including the nails? I'm a real worrywort about limping, and since this is a second episode (i.e. it hasn't really cleared up after five days) I would go to the vet.

Oh poor Harley! Is the limp the same as before when you had the Xrays? Maybe it's time for a more in-depth look through a CT scan.

The first thing I'd check is paws to look for cuts or thorns.

As @Karen says, check the claws. Gently press each claw individually and see if she pulls it away. Cocoa had an infection behind one of her claws and it took a while to clear up.

She had a few episodes of limping in the past which is why we had X-rays done. The vet has suggested rest over the weekend and to go in if she’s the same by Monday.

It’s the back left which is the same one as before. The vet said previously that it was a pulled muscle, but I’m starting to worry that it’s the same leg each time. Her paws and nails are fine. I worry a lot about her so checked her over thoroughly before calling the vet as don’t want to waste their time.

Looks like that might be our next step :(

Thanks Rosie.......I will, but can’t say his name as she will go nuts and start looking for him;)

Just phoned the vets again as she struggled to get off the sofa and lie on her bed. We are going in just after 5pm. Will let you know how we get on x

Just got back. The vet thinks it’s her hip :(. We also found a lump on her left side between her hip and her spine. Not sure if it’s swelling where she might of hit or or something else. At this stage is rest, metacam for 7 days then back to see the vet. Going to be a very challenging week as my OH is going away Sunday for 12 days.
