On Saturday we took Hattie & Charlie to our village Flower Show and entered them in the Fun Dog Show and they did really well. Hattie gained a 3rd place for Best Bitch out of 20 dogs ranging from puppies through to seniors. She also gained 1st place in the Veterans section, I can hardly believe she is a veteran Charlie did really well too and got a "Special" and only because he barked at a Spaniel next to him that had a silly bright red and white bandana on which obviously triggered something, poor dog looked ridiculous. The judge said Charlie is a "very handsome dog and would have been placed if he hadn't barked" Next year Charlie, next year All in all Charlie did really well in such a busy environment with a brass band playing, megaphone anouncements all afternoon, Punch and Judy, Morris Dancers, Maypole Dancers, Ice Cream Van jingling away, tons of children running and shouting, bunting flapping and a huge amount of dogs. David started off walking the perimeter, sitting him at a bit of a distance feeding him treats and gently moving amongst the crowd and dogs. The Dog Warden that I know praised Charlie for his wonderful nature and how well he handled himself considering he can be a bit anxious and isn't normally exposed to so much He really did well and we are glad we had yet another training opportunity. Hattie is an old hand and cruised round like a true pro Charlie modelling his "Special" rosette Hattie modelling her 3d place rosette and her 1st place rosette Hattie & Charlie looking very pleased with themselves My youngest son Thomas took the photo's on my new Birthday camera, hope you like them. Thanks xxxx
Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all Well done Hattie and Charlie, you made your mum proud Love the photos xx
Well done to all of you! Sounds like a fabulous day, and special congratulations to Charlie for being so good with all the distractions!
love, love love that photo of Charlie! Well done to all of you, specially with all those distractions!
Very well deserved indeed! I think Charlie should have got extra points for barking at a silly bright red and white bandana!
I can't believe I missed this. What a brilliant day you all had. Charlie looks so proud of his rosette. He got a 'special' because he is very special which quite frankly is much more impressive than a normal rosette. Hattie was bound to win she's a proper lady and knows how to conduct herself. You must have been so proud especially of the way Charlie behaved I'm so happy for you all even if it is a bit late.
Fantastic, Helen!! They both look lovely! Sounds like a very fun day, thanks for sharing these pictures. It's so nice to see them both, especially with ribbons!
Thanks Kate, I love that photo too, I am going to get a print and frame it. Thomas is very proud!! xx Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. We all had a lovely time. Julie, I agree, Charlie should have got extra points!! xxxx
