Hi all, even the vets are stumped with this one so any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Lola is 7 months and recently has had head tremors after intense play/ball chasing. They last about 10 seconds (though I coax her out of them so hard to tell) and happen on and off for about an hour after finishing the walk. Don't happen every time and even when they do she is otherwise bright and responsive. They seem to bother me more than her. The best way to describe them is like someone with Parkinson's disease, but only affecting the head.

The vet said epilepsy/seizures are very unlikely to be the problem. Googling it makes it sound like idiopathic head tremors.

    Anyone have similar experiences?

Yes , I have experienced this , and in a youngster too . My dog , a terrier , started with these head tremors , so I know exactly what they look like , I also used the similarity to Parkinsons to describe them . I kept a diary , to see if we could identify a trigger, but we never could do . I would encourage you to keep a diary also, plus film the episodes if you can , I guess it could be the canine equivalent of febrile convulsions in babies ? If so , she will most likely grow out of them , but keeping a log of when they happen , for how long and how often , will help . With my dog, they happened after play when she was resting and relaxed , didn't seem to bother her at all but unfortunately they did develop into seizures , for which she was medicated very successfully indeed, living a full and happy life . If it continues , I would be asking for a referral to a neuro specialist , for peace of mind all round , good luck , I know what a worry it is xx

Just a thought, has she by any chance been treated for an infection recently using a drug called metrodianozole ( sp ? ) sometimes known as flagyl ,as this can, on occasions cause slight tremors .
