Brody was from a German breeder here, as we both live in Germany and wanted someone local to us. Breeder does show her dogs and has already asked us about Brody, and thinks we should. Not sure yet is something we want to do but may give it a go to experience it later on. Breeder was great, and still is great with advice, as we still talking and planning on meeting up for a group walk with Brody mother and uncles (she has 5 labradors).

He is quite chunky :) She had 3 boys and 4 girls, and even the girls are big. He was the largest from the litter, although we had picked him from 4 weeks old as we had been going to the breeder weekly from 4 weeks until we took him home at 9 weeks. At that age there was no real difference between them, but it has turned out he was the biggest ;)

That's great, that you have a reputable and helpful breeder.

Poppy looks great :) Actually might have been the LCD we found the Breeder. Girlfriend was the one that did the searching ;) Her German is fluent and mine is "average" :)

I think i like the dummy work more than the show stuff, and also looking into scent work and just games i can play with Brody. At the moment we are just enjoying the training and having him :)

We have a weekend away with all of Brody brothers and sisters in October, organised by the Breeder on a retrieving (i think it is) seminar, which will be fun to meet up with the other puppies and see how they have got on. We spent a lot of time with them during the 4 weeks and could of taken a few of them home they were that adorable!

You can combine both. All Labradors should be able to work, swim, play and retrieve; they love it and need it! If later you are interested in dummy work as well as showing, there are 'Work and Show' working tests, which sound great fun!

All in the future I know - but it's amazing how it creeps up on you!

Brody sounds lovely. How did you pick his name?
