I have a beautiful 14wk old lab who has started waking in the middle of the night crying and barking, we've opened her crate to let her outside for a wee etc but she just sits at the back of the crate not budging. Then after settling her back down I go to bed only for the barking and crying to restart.... it's as if shes scared of something .... friends suggested foxes or cats may be disturbing her... any tips??? TiA x
Have you recently moved the crate to a different location in the house? She might be scared being so far away from you, you could move the crate back to beside your bed and start moving her back to your desired location slowly. If the crate has been there a while it could be noises outside spooking her or is there new shadows on the wall, a creaking gate/sign.
