Hi everyone! We just picked up our first puppy, Thelma, last Sunday, and I'm excited to find this forum . We've had a dramatic first week, as she was diagnosed with parvo Monday night, but Thelma is home and recovering well, and we're finally settling into all the normal puppy excitement. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way, but I just wanted to drop in and say hello!
Congratulations, though not a fun start to your puppy journey! I hope she's feeling a lot better now. Do let us know how she gets along
Thank you! It certainly wasn't what we were expecting, but, thanks to her big spirit and some excellent veterinary care, she's doing fantastic The extra isolation requirements now are the big challenge, as we were hoping to at least take her to meet some trusted relatives in their homes (no dogs until vaccination series is completed, of course) for some socialization. Now, we won't be able take her off our property for at least the next month, as she will still be shedding virus. It would break my heart to think that any carelessness on our part put another family through what we went through (or worse), but it does present some extra challenges.
