Re: Hello from a GSP owner
... although my daughter suggests Vaio, after Mariano di Vaio, male model of the year 2013. Clare
My sisters laptop is a Sony Vaio and he is not getting named after a male model
Re: Hello from a GSP owner
Oh he's stunning! Look forward to more details later on
Yeah once I get my wee boy home and settled I'll try and keep a weekly blog going. He is entering into some clicker training for obedience but his exposure to training for his future is going to be very early compared to my other dogs. So it will be very interesting to see how he responds to methods for producing a hunting dog/companion that I have been researching
Re: Hello from a GSP owner
and he is not getting named after a male model
Hee hee - even I can tell there's not the tiniest chance of you changing your mind there! Will look forward to the blog in the future. And the first pic of your boy when you know for definite which one is yours. Clare
Re: Hello from a GSP owner
Full tail or partly docked (can't quite make it out in the pic)?
Haven't even asked lol :
Re: Hello from a GSP owner Oh and in regards to names I stumbled across a tradition in a book recently where litters from a line are named alphabetically. So the the first litter from a bitch all the pups are called a name beginning with A, then the next litter all begin with B etc It was meant to help people keep track of one which litter the pup came from and secondly how many litters the bitch had. Makes sense Hard to be tradition
Re: Hello from a GSP owner What about something a bit Romanesque, which covers the whole geographical area of interest: Lucius/Lucan Fabius/Fabian/Fabio/Favio Cassius Atticus Apollo Tarquin

Apollo fits in with the traditional naming practices too Maybe my breeder will have named the wee dude. My last two were named hey the breeder and I just stuck with it.
Re: Hello from a GSP owner My little Lab is called Lucan, named after Sir Lucan, King Arthur's most loyal knight. He certainly lives up to his name and never leaves my side, a very easy dog. Good luck with your new addition. I love the HPRs used to have a Weimaraner, a real character, very strong willed but well worth the blood, sweat and tears put into his training. Still miss him 7 years on.
Re: Hello from a GSP owner I have read about the sire of your pup, think he is quite a goer ;D I look forward to reading your blogs. My last GSP died three days ago after 30 years of GSP owning.

Re: Hello from a GSP owner She was 13 years and 8 months and had still enjoyed at least an hour's walk a day. It was very sudden, from being OK to being put to sleep about an hour and a half later, there is a dreadful hole in the house despite having two Labs. My previous GSP lived until 14 years and one month.

Re: Hello from a GSP owner No, went over to Labs, thought they might be easier - NOT! I have two and don't really feel I want three dogs again. But do hanker after a GSP but being sensible.
