Hi all, I am a soon-to-be first-time Lab/puppy mom! We just put down a deposit for a female puppy from an all-chocolate litter. Her parents are gorgeous and we've been talking to the breeder for several weeks now, and she seems very reputable and knowledgeable about health clearances, showing, temperament, etc. In addition to showing them, she breeds her dogs with the purpose of hunting and as my husband is an avid hunter we're extremely excited to get our pup in mid-May and start raising and training her. We've never raised a puppy before, as we adopted our current dog from a rescue when he was already a trained adult, so I'm probably going to have a whole host of questions as I continue doing some puppy research. Very excited for my first Lab and I look forward to learning more about this wonderful breed!
Hi and welcome from me and 7yr old Lucan. I know exactly how excited you're feeling! I'm picking up my black Lab pup on Thursday after booking him 8 wks ago, can't wait! Keep us posted.
A warm welcome from me and 2 ear old Chocolate girl Mabel. How exciting, looking forward to some puppy photos.
Hi and welcome from me and 3 year old red girl, Harley. I highly recommend the 'Happy Puppy' book by Pippa Mattinson as it has everything you need to know and more when getting a puppy.
Hello and welcome to the forum. I also have a choccy Lab puppy who is show bred, but who comes from a kennel where all the dogs work in the field. Are you planning on showing your puppy as well as working her?
