I'm Cupar and Cassie`s human carer, feeder, walker and playmate. Cassie is my beautiful 9 year old rescue, she's been with us for 3 years. She has a major issue as in resourse guarding. Unfortunately I'm the resource. This issue we have worked on for three years , first using my old boy Jake ,who died last year at age 14 and a half. Jake was a rescue at 18 months with all the behaviours of a 10 week old puppy. I miss that boy every day. When Jake died I use my grandchildren to help her with this . She only guards with certain dogs all bitches. Apart from that she has the most affectionate nature with all humans and is a pleasure to live with. Cupar , oh my sweet, my precious Cupar. I love this boy a wee bit more each and every day. He's 10 weeks old and is my first pup in over twenty years. All our others have came through rescue. At the moment Cupar is getting socialized, lots and lots of socialization. My family think I'm nuts. I do not care. I have had a dog who was scared of everthing and I really don't want that to happen to my boy. I forgot to say they are all Labradors. I'm a sucker for a lab , I don't care if they're the most popular dog, they're that for reason. On deciding on a pup we talked about a German Shepherd or a wee Cairn terrier, but the Labrador won. Both dogs are yellow but don't think I'm fussy about the colour, because Jake was the most beautiful black Labrador ever. I wanted a yellow boy as I can't replace my black boy. I don't normally introduce myself on forums but after reading some posts, this forum seems to have kinder and non judgemental members. I hope to be the same. I raw feed both dogs. I have been raw feeding for nearly 3 years. This is my first pup on raw, that was scary. I shall try to post some pics.
Re: Hello from Ayrshire Welcome, both your dogs sound lovely. I can understand your love growing for puppy Cupar, they are such a delight at that age. My Gt Grandmother came from Ayrshire, I would love to visit the county.
Re: Hello from Ayrshire Thankyou. Ayrshire is a beautiful county just remember to bring your wellies.
Re: Hello from Ayrshire Hi and welcome Look forward to seeing photos of Cassie, Cupar and Jake they sound wonderful, especially the late Jake Everyone on here is really friendly and always answer all questions, even if they might seem silly or trivial (I know, I've posted a lot of them!). Re: Hello from Ayrshire Hello, and welcome to the forum from Holly and me. The members of this forum have been a good source of practical advice and reassurance and I'm sure that you'll find it a welcoming and useful resource. One thing I've found is that we can never get enough pictures of Labs, so as soon as you've got your PC set up we'd love to see pictures of Cupar and Cassie!
Re: Hello from Ayrshire Oh welcome to you and your lovely dogs x I'm so glad you have found us ,what a lot of experience you have to share with the Forum Members when youve loved and have owned labs for so many years. Re: Hello from Ayrshire Hi from me and 10 month old Molly. Your love for your dogs shines through. I know what you mean about not wanting the same colour as Jake - my last dog was a chocolate Lab and I didn't like the idea of one I would compare too closely. (Molly's a black Lab cross Chessie).
Re: Hello from Ayrshire Hi, welcome from me and meg my yellow lab 14. Never had a lab before meg and I've fallen totally in love with the breed. Looking forward to pics.

Re: Hello from Ayrshire Thanks to everyone for the lovely welcome. I have to apologise as I haven't figured out how to get photos on here. I've been busy this week and I must admit to spending lots of extra time in the garden, as we're having one of the driest and warmest summers in years. So getting Cupar when we did has been well timed. I have a dropbox account so when I'm not hovering over Cupar as he looks for his next stone, snail, plant, bee or chew toy, I shall spend time on computer and work out how to show off my gorgeous labs.
