I'm am a proud new owner of a CKC registered Yellow 8 week old lab. I'm new to dogs as I previously had Cats. I've bought all of Pippa's books, and learned as much as possible. (So I thought). Two days in and I'm honestly exhausted. Nipping, pulling at my hair. Peeing and pooping with military bomber precision with little to no warning wherever he me be standing. 'attempting' crate training. Don't get me wrong I love the guy, and can't wait to have an adult, and loyal lab to come out to the bush with me. Guess I'm venting a bit. Could use some reassurance myself that it gets better. Call it the post puppy blues!

    Thanks everyone.

    It DEFINITELY gets better.
You are in culture shock mode.
    Life changing puppy parent hood.

If you haven't already check out the Getting Help With Your Labrador board where there is the section on Labrador Puppies. Pinned second from the top -I think - is a long but reassuring thread called "Puppy problems - will they EVER improve???"

Stick with the crate training if you can. If you have read all the books and looked at the website there are step by step guides for this (And threads on here).
And there is almost always someone around on here to vent to.

    It gets better.
Forum motto is "This too shall pass"

And welcome to the forum x

Yes it does definitely get better. No denying though it is hard work those first few months but well worth it.

Hi and welcome from me and my labs Rory and Moo. It does get better it's just hard at first. Labrador puppies are a necessary evil you don't get a good companion lifelong if you don't go through this .just enjoy the good bits and the bad will be over soon.

It gets better. Holly had her monster moments and she's now a lovely sweet-natured girl.

Thanks guys and gals. I submitted the names Sora and Hiro to the CKC. Not sure which they accepted (if any) yet, but for all intents and purposes Sora it is.
Glad to here This too shall pass. I'll keep reading and I'll be sticking around these parts I believe.

I'm near CFB Petawawa, which is funny because we picked him up from the breeder by CFB Trenton. Just a coincidence I'm sure. Heh heh.

OOOOHHHHH! That is one cute pup! But that is how they suck you in...you look at all that adoreableness and next thing you are home and there is a crocopup attached to your fingers. But he is sure is cute! It is like brainwashing, I swear!
Welcome from Harley Quinn and myself.
