Hello from the west coast of Canada. My name is Chris. My wife and I have had several dogs, including an older black lab, so I new it was a lab I wanted. We found a breeder we liked and waited a long 10 months for a little yellow girl. We got her at 7 weeks and I thought we had a polite Canadian version of your pups. She's 9 weeks now and I realize I was wrong. My wife calls her Sara and I call her Whachagotnow. It's teeth first and ask questions later. As a bonus she loves gardening. Apparently we put the grass in the wrong location and the garden needs that lunar landscape touch. You have a wonderful forum here with your approach to training. It's much more fun for both of us to be saying yes all the time than no. My wife just retired and I work if I feel like it, so it's a perfect time for a pup, which we've never had before. She's a treasure.
Re: Hello from Canada Hello and welcome to the forum. Beautiful name for a little pup. Looking forward to seeing some photos of Sara. ;D
Re: Hello from Canada Hi and welcome from me and 13 month old red fox lab, Harley We all love photos if you get a chance to post some
Re: Hello from Canada Your post made made me chuckle, Chris. They're such hard work, but so adorable, aren't they? Big welcome from me and my 16 month old little black girl (who is still pretty crazy!) Enjoy your lovely pup
Re: Hello from Canada Hi and welcome! How fortunate that you chose a puppy who has the skills to resolve all your garden design issues. I believe that 'lunar surface' is very 'now' and you will soon be the envy of your neighbours
Re: Hello from Canada Hi Chris, welcome to you and your family. Sara sounds like a character This is a great forum, and we love puppies and puppy pictures. Even digging up the garden ones Lilly is my first dog, she is a black girl, just over 4 years old, and we are based in Scotland. jac
Re: Hello from Canada Woot woot! Another Canadian!! Waving at you from across the mountains from here in Alberta! I have a 2 year old Lab/NewfieX, we got him when he was a year old and are gradually getting him sorted out...well, he's not that bad really but the first couple months were a little rough. Anyhow great to have you here, it's a great place for questions and support! Pop over to the technical section and have a look at how to post pics, we'd love to see your Sara (my youngest is named Sarah! )
Re: Hello from Canada Hello there,we have Dexter a 2 year old yellow boy..he's our first dog and we live in Dubai but are originally from the UK x
Re: Hello from Canada Thank you all for your welcomes. I've noticed a lot of helpful support on this site. I've been lurking here for a couple of months taking in all your advise and especially Pippas' knowledge. Great books. So now that we have our little girl it's time to come out of the shadows. Jacqui, we were in Edinburgh last month for a week. had a real blast at your fringe festival. Beautiflu city and great people. Hey Lisa, somebody close by. I see you have summer back. My son just moved to Calgary last summer, a week before the great flood. I'm sure he really loves the place . Thanks for that thought, Kath. Hard to picture all this energy in a bigger body. It'll be fun, Sara and I will be great buddies, but if she catches more fish than me, there may be a problem haha
Re: Hello from Canada A big hello from Caroline and Buddy... My chocolate treasure who will be 12 months in a few days!
Re: Hello from Canada And a welcome from me as well, two Labs, Rourke and Drift; eight years ago I bought my first Lab to go with my two German Shorthaired Pointers, the last one died just before Christmas. My daughter is called Sara

Re: Hello from Canada Welcome to forum from sunny south wales. Brilliant forum and lots of good advice and lovely puppy pics. My black pup Lemmy is a bit of a scamp and its always good to see your not alone when they get up to mischief. I've given up on garden since Lemmy decided beetroots and tomatoes were put on earth for pouncing on.
Re: Hello from Canada Welcome! Edsel, my 7 month black fella and I are your neighbors to the south. We split time between Indiana and Oklahoma. Sara sounds like my kind of girl! I do enjoy gardening! ;D Lori & Edsel
Re: Hello from Canada Thanks for all your welcomes. There is a lot of helpful advice on here which is much appreciated. I think I can finally post a couple of photos. They're from 2 weeks ago when she was 8 weeks. It wasn't the technical challenge, it just took that long to think of a new password. I put image tags front and back for you - gorgeous! - jac
