Re: Hello from Duke & I
May I suggest you quit the other forum as this one is so friendly We look forward to hearing all about Duke.
Hear, Hear! Just don't tell all your friends as I am having trouble keeping up with all the new people as it is ;D ;D I'm not sure that the type of person who is precious about only having breed standard pooches are the type that I particularly bond with. Suggests to me the "trophy dog type". I don't want to offend anyone, but most people I know feel their dog is just as precious as a child, and lets face it, us humans are far from perfect, and our breed standard is ridiculously varied!!!
Re: Hello from Duke & I
Good to hear that you are getting some sleep! So, how is the crating going? Does he cry and make a noise when you crate him while cleaning up? Do you give him something in his crate (like a Kong with treats in it) to keep him busy and make him think the crate is a good place? Another trick is to feed all meals in the crate. You want your pup to think that everything good happens in the crate. When you buy a new toy, put it in the crate. Leave surprise treats in the crate for him to find. That kind of thing
Oberon, The crate is in the kitchen while cleaning, and i have tried the stuffed kong thing, new toys, and it doesn't phase him, still howls lol. He is getting better at night like i said, but during the day while im about the house, and he can see me, he is not a happy camper lol I say happy things when he is in, he always gets a treat when he goes in, but I suppose it will just take time! As for everyone else, Yes, the other forum has been quit! You guys are great!! ;D
