Hello, and thank you for added me to the forum! I'm so grateful to have found this group! Our Harley Sue, is currently 12 weeks old. We were getting very concerned that something was wrong, due to the frequency and even more so, how HARD she bites! My arms, legs, and hands are riddled with bite marks and bruises, and she has drawn blood nearly every time. She nips at my husband, but not nearly as hard. I can be walking her (she's great on a leash), just sitting calmly on the sofa, or playing with her, and out of nowhere, she's punctured my skin again! Worse thing is, she doesn't let go, and tries to use my appendages as a rag doll! Last night, I found this site, and can't begin to tell you how relieved I was to read that this is normal play, and some labs do bite this much and this hard. She is my 3rd lab. The first two fooled me into thinking labs didn't bite! lol! Sorry to start my first interaction here with the biting story, but it's exhausting, and upsetting. I love my little Harley, and I know she loves me! Here are some great things about her: at 8 weeks old, she knew her name, sit, down, and come. All with treats waiting, but still! At 10 weeks she added fetch, return, and drop it. Again, for treats, but hey, it's a start! Last week, she started doing very well loose leash walking, and some heel. She is super smart, has slept through the night right from her first day with us, on September 1st. Her crate is clean and dry in the morning, AND yesterday, she actually ran to the door and scratched to go outside, 3 TIMES! We're so in love with her, and so proud of her. Just looking for guidance on the shark attacks! Thank you!
Hi and welcome from me and my 8 month lab Isla (who was a terrible biter and chewer!) Good news the biting has almost stopped
