    Hi everyone

Not sure if any of you remember us, i was an active member when we got our black lab littermates, Jack & Barney 5 years ago.

The boys are an absolute dream, so well behaved and incredibly affectionate.

At the weekend, a chance set of circumstances led to us going to see and reserve a new puppy! We weren’t even considering it and now we are in full swing getting the house and garden ready to pick her up on Saturday. She is a black lab and we have named her Meg, she will be 8 weeks old on Thursday.

I’m sure you will see me on the puppy board regularly as we try to remember what to do ;)

When i figure out how to post pictures again I will post some of the boys and of Meg.

I’m so excited and can’t wait to get her.

    Louise

    Hi everyone

well we got Meg, she is now 17 months old and as much of a delight as the boys
The first week or two were quite challenging, as She was quite a feisty puppy and very bitey, and I must admit we questioned our decision in those early days.....but we worked on that, and she got better, and the boys quickly fell in love with her and her with them. I work from home and have to travel sometimes (in normal times!) so they go to doggie daycare on those odd days, and it was our dog walker friend that got Meg’s sister, and also has her auntie. The 3 of them still go out with her a couple of times a week which mean Meg gets to spend time with her littermate Nettle, they adore each other. It was really tough during our first lockdown as they didn’t see each other for 8-9 weeks, but they were so excited when they were together again.

Meg’s recall has been fantastic, she is a well behaved, well trained and loving girl who has brought so much joy to all our lives. Earlier this year we started letting the boys off lead with her, (we previously were only able to let the boys off in secure environments as they would run off together) just one at a time to start with, and we quickly got to the point where the 3 of them go off together and they have such a great time.

Meg is ball obsessed, and so we are starting to try off lead walks with out the ball to try and break the obsession, it has worked really well so far, once she knows we don’t have a ball she runs with the boys.

The only downside to having 3 lovely labradors is that we could do with a bigger caravan

(This photo is the 3 of them in May, bizarrely they all share the same birthday! Jack & Barney were 6 and Meg was 1)
