I was just looking for online information about Labradors when I came across this site. What a great site, and so much useful information. Our lovely yellow lab pup, Holly, is a year old this week. She's a normal, healthy, boisterous, playful, omnivorous, mud-loving Lab with a great personality. While writing this she's lying on her back by my feet and snoring!

Re: Hello from new member Gosh, thanks for the welcome. Holly is our third Lab. The first was a black Lab (Tammy) from a working line. She was very intelligent, for example whenever we came home she would search the house for our slippers and bring them to us. After Tammy we had a Collie/Lab cross called Gypsy who, sadly, died young from epilepsy. Gypsy was followed by a choccy Lab called Cocoa, whose best friends were two other choccies called Smarties and Fudge. Cocoa was the most laid-back Lab I've ever known; gentle, patient to the extreme, and completely undemanding. Holly is very much a working Lab and has a very different temperament from Cocoa. She likes to be right in the middle of everything that's happening. If my wife of I move she'll follow us to find out where we're going (and if there's any possibility of food!). She loves gardening, particularly if it involves digging up bushes, eating windfalls from the apple tree or running off with plant pots. She's still a bit jumpy, and hasn't quite lost her habit of mouthing our sleeves, but is developing into a lovely dog.
Re: Hello from new member Holly is beautiful, she looks quite fluffy almost like a Golden Retriever but she sounds just like a typical Lab. Your other dogs sound fantastic too. Enjoy the forum. We look forward to lots of posts about Holly. Helen x
Re: Hello from new member Thanks Helen. That picture was taken at 3 months when she was a cute little furball. She's a bit bigger now, but I still love that picture.

Re: Hello from new member Welcome from me, Jack (black lab, 9 yrs) and Willow (female crocodile monster pretending to be a cute puppy) black lab just over 4 months - both rescue. Willow is my third lab too, Teal (black lab, yes definitely seeing a pattern here!) sounds like Cocoa - he had the patience of a saint and needed it with Jack, but sadly passed Nov last year - although I think he sent Willow to get his own back on Jack lol ;D Brilliant site - you will laugh, cry and go 'oh I remember that' to lots of stories of all the wonderful furbabies out there.
