Hi everyone, We’re two weeks in on puppy ownership and those two weeks have been the quickest of my life! They’ve also been pretty intense and I do have a scene of what people mean when they talk about puppy blues. I read up a lot before going into it, and had been looking forward to having a Lab for literally years, but I guess nothing prepares you for the reality. So anyhow, taking it one day at a time here and glad to be part of this community. Here’s the little guy. He’s 10 weeks now. This pic was taken a couple of weeks ago when he first arrived. His name is Bailey. https://www.flickr.com/gp/9927085@N03/Pc4aL8 Tony
Hi Tony, welcome to the forum! Bailey is gorgeous I agree that nothing quite prepares you for the intensity of raising a puppy! It is worth it though, just keep going!
Thanks, Pippa! BTW I've read all of your books and attempting to put them into practice. I'm presently running through the early puppy exercises in Total Recall. One question if I may... Would it make sense to let him off the lead almost immediately (in a safe area without too many distractions) when his vaccinations are done? When does the follow-my-grown-ups instinct start to fade?
Bailey looks beautiful! Good luck with him.. I am in a very similar situation, in the second week with my puppy and it feels like I'm drinking from a firehose! Really enjoying the ride, and glad to be a part of this community as well.
