Hello everyone! I'm Clair and my little friend is Shadow, she's a 7 month black lab x. She's my whole life and I'm so grateful for all I've learned on the website and the forum. It's really helped me in training her. I went to two puppy schools, but left both before the 6 week course was over because both just seemed interested in making money and not in training dogs. Classes ended up having over 20 puppies, on the lead all the time and no individual attention or play time. It was frustrating for both of us, so I quit and decided for both of our sanities to try and do this myself. I found Pippa's website and have been reading everything! The threads in the behaviour section have really lifted my mood and made me feel a lot better about my girl. I'm seeing that I'm not the only one battling sometimes with training. And it's also made me realise how much she has already learned! We have some issues which I will post about in the behaviour section. The joys of having a four footed companion! I'm looking forward to participating in the forum, it is nice to meet like minded people who don't see our friends as "just a dog!" I will post a picture when I figure out how to!

Re: Hello from South Africa Thank you for all the warm welcomes! Angela, I tried to PM you regarding posting a photo, but am not yet allowed to! I have my photos stored on Dropbox. I went to the photo I wanted, right clicked, get the link, then pasted into a post. Highlighted it, clicked insert image and all that changed was the expression on my face! What is the max size for a photo? Maybe mine is too big? Thanks, Clair
Re: Hello from South Africa Hi Clair, welcome to you and Shadow! I use dropbox too - do you have a public folder? I put all forum photos in there and copy the public link from a right click. All my photos upload to dropbox automatically but I use "Paint" to resize my photos - usually 20% for me works well - then save the resized ones into the public folder. I you don't already have a public folder this page, about half way down, explains how to enable one. Hope you enjoy being on the forum jac and Lilly - 4 year old black girl
