Hello everyone! I should say "howdy" I guess, but I'm a Florida girl transplanted to Texas. I'm the heartbroken mom of a black Lab rescue named Franklin that we euthanized last week. We adopted him at 10 weeks old, and he started having GI issues shortly after. It was on/off GI issues for about 3 years, then we changed vets. A new vet, an ultrasound, swollen lymph node FNAs later, we still had zero answers why he wasn't thriving. He was tall and all legs (maybe some greyhound in the background), but he was ok until these past few months. Then his eye looked infected, but it was autoimmune. Then the skin lesions. Then the not being able to keep food down. It was too much, so we let his sweet soul go. We have another rescue, Tasha, our sweetheart, and 2 rescue kitties, Koko and Qwinn. Not to mention two teenage human boys! And we just put a deposit on a new lab puppy. My Frankie will never be replaced, but we are so looking forward to the newest little member of our family.
Welcome to the forum I'm really sorry about the recent loss of your Franklin. It's a very, very hard thing to go through.... A very lucky pup will be joining your household before too long. Have you thought of any names yet?
So sorry to hear about Franklin. It sounds like you did everything you could for him. When is your new puppy due? Boy or girl? What colour? We love pictures here, so feel free to post pictures of your current tribe, memories of Frankie and any you have of new pup.

Hello from me and Lilly! Sad to say goodbye to a member of the family, but exciting too making plans and the anticipation of a new arrival. I do hope you enjoy the forum. jac
Thank you for the warm welcome! Tasha is an Austrailian Shepherd/Catahoula mix. She's a beauty....pix soon I promise! We're going to get a chocolate boy most likely, maybe black. He's only 5 days old, so it's going to be a while. We're going to name him Mouse (any Harry Dresden fans out there? You'll understand the name). Gotta run and feed my little zoo,but I'll be around!
Welcome from Ontario, Canada. I'm very sorry for your recent loss. But looking forward to photos of your current crew and the new puppy when he/she arrives.
