Hi - I have a 12 week old chocolate Lab puppy. He is my third Lab; although I started looking for an adult Lab when my previous one passed away about a year ago, a woman I knew had a 13 puppy litter and I offered to purchase one of her puppies. If I had to do this experience all over again, I would look for a dog or puppy starting late winter, as the puppy's first potty of the day is around 4-ish AM and I don't have a yard where I could just take him out. I am using pads, and he is trained to use the pads (has very few accidents - off the pad). Unfortunately, I can't take him out until 9-ish or so when it starts to warm up. He associates 'outside' with pee, but hasn't quite made that connection to the other waste product. Other than that, I don't regret what I did.
