hello Peter and a warm welcome from me...Benson (chocolate) 20 months, Casper (black)6.5 years and D (black) 5 years old
Yes and yes They have their moments of complete and utter madness. Bouncing off walls, launching themselves over the sofa etc. Generally when they're over-tired. They also have certain places on our regular walks where they will do the bum-tuck run and act like complete fools. But they're a lot calmer than they were as small pups, which is just as well! I do a fair amount of training with them and I think that makes a big difference to their demeanour. Willow still jumps up sometimes when she's excited, but that's the worst thing she does really, and it's getting a lot better. They're a complete joy
Thank you Beanwood, 3 labs wow that's just... insane i can barely handle one hahaha snowbunny that's good to know, does willow jumps and bite as well or only jumps? For example when Sirius gets excited sometimes jumps and bite, but i imagine that this is a normal behaviour for a puppy , or when he rolls over with his tummy upwards he bites whatever comes near his mouth. Well i suppose he's still young, but i'm not sure if he's going to calm down while he gets older p.s i don't know what you mean with bum-tuck keep in mind i'm not native english speaker, but maybe i have a slightly idea about it, just in case could you explain it to me?
Hello, from me and Bruno! Your pup us beautiful https://www.flickr.com/photos/133178780@N06/shares/o0h638
Peter Willow doesn't bite, although when she gets excited about licking my face, usually in the mornings, she may nibble my nose a bit. At Sirius' age, though, she would sometimes nip your nose when she jumped up if she was super excited. The bum-tuck run is where they go a bit loopy and as they run, the back end sort of comes underneath ... I searched YouTube for an example for you and got this (not my dog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHD5pAdcZyk It's not the best example... maybe one of the other members has a video of their dog doing it.
Thank you Markiee and wow your lab is just gorgeous, his fur is SHINIING literally i want a black lab now! snowbunny Thanks for the explanation, it's just hilarious to see! I can't remember if Sirius did that as well sometimes but i can tell you that, he can get quite over exicted and starts running and jumping on beds! I'd like to see relaxed but he's so full of energy, beside i have a bit of problems with him when i try to train something
In the USA they call working labs American, and show labs English. Which doesn't make a lot of sense because in fact the split between work and show exists on either side of the atlantic
thanks Naya and Beatak @pippa i see, too bad though that they made the race split between expo and show, in my opnion a dog should have both beauty and the will to work :O
Hi and welcome, from me and my pooch, Simba. He is a almost three-year old Labrador/Newfoundland cross... https://www.flickr.com/photos/31088481@N03/18790192691
Hello there, how are you doing Pietro? Sirius is very lovely x I have Dexter,a small, working line yellow fellow ,he is nearly 3 and our first dog I'll post you a pic ...
Hello and welcome, Pietro. I have two young labs, Wispa (3) and Tuppence, who will be two in September.
Thank you all! @ Lisa Simba is awesome. Dexter I'm doing fine thank you, and what about you? Dex looks like a funny fellow! Granca 2 labs? How can you handle 2 of them at the same time!?!?!? I already struggle with sirius and he's one!
Hello there - I haven't yet said welcome - so welcome. I have Charlie, a chocolate show line lab. Working line labs look different, but they are still very beautiful. Here is Charlie with his best girl (Meg, a working line dog) - working line dogs tend to be taller (but not always), and lighter (although I'd say Meg doesn't weigh much less than Charlie does).
