Re: Hello My pup feels bored I feel so worried he seems to have lost interest in playing will throwing more toys help to relieve his boredom nd stop his destructive biting nd play peacefully wen someone tries to pat him he oly wants to bite hw do I knw his body language nd behaviour wen happy dad or angry are der any symptoms pls let me knw they say if a puppy shows his belly it means he is submissive is this true or I Don knw if I'm provoking some behaviour I'm confused
Re: Hello Hi Teena, Your puppy is playing. His behaviour sounds quite normal. Showing you his belly is all part of the game. Try not to analyse his so much. He is just a baby and life to him is a game. If he bites too hard stop playing with him. You can teach him not to nip at your fingers when you touch him using this video how to stop puppies biting Pippa
Re: Hello Hi Teena, I have just read a bit further back in this thread and noticed this I just want to say to you that we all want to help you, but it is important to bear in mind that no-one is under any obligation to answer posts or questions on this forum. I don't want other members to feel bad because they have not replied to you. People come here to chat and have fun, as well as to ask questions, and if someone browsing the forum feels that they have the knowledge, or the time, to help another person, then they will post an answer. It is all very voluntary and friendly. If you don't get a reply it may be because you are asking a question that you have asked before and that has already been answered. Or because your question has not been understood. I hope you are finding all the advice and support you are getting here helpful, and that you are enjoying Cooper. He sounds like a lovely normal little puppy. Pippa

Re: Hello We're with you Teena because we all understand how difficult and worrying the puppy weeks can be. But Cooper will progress and learn, as long as you are gentle, kind, but clear with him. He will start to lose his baby teeth soon, and then the nipping will not be so painful, and he will slowly learn not to bite.
Re: Hello Yes Teena Ann don't be worried,Puppies grow so fast and whilst they can puzzle you sometimes with their they are a lot of fun too.rub his tummy when he rolls over he will love it and wants you to play with him,I bet he gets excited though and will nip at you because he is having fun..but don't worry, just stop playing and when he is calmer start again ;D x
Re: Hello I bought the same collar for Dexter when he arrived....only it was red!It looks so small now when I see it in the drawer! Cooper is cute x
Re: Hello Hope he Luks healthy Dexter ;D nd waiting for all d nipping nd biting to stop do lab dogs bark very loudly lyk working guard dogs or they bark oly wen threatened or they won't bark at all wen they become adult dogs
Re: Hello Hi Teena, labs will bark to guard their house, and because they are big dogs they have quite a loud voice. But they don't bark as much as many other breeds, and of course are usually very friendly dogs. So they are not really guard dogs, although their deep bark can be enough to frighten off intruders.
Re: Hello Oh thanks Karen is der anything else I should do at this stage he is 3 months old wat r d training I should start now
Re: Hello Everything you do with him is training, Teena. Does he go outside to go to the toilet? Teaching him to be clean in the house is obviously important. You can start to teach him to walk next to you on his lead, to sit and wait nicely for a short time before he gets a treat, and most importantly you must teach him to come back when you call. But remember he is a baby, you must make all training fun and positive with lots of praise and treats, and keep your training sessions short - just a few minutes, several times a day. Where do you take him to run around and play?
Re: Hello I take him to d terrace to play he chases me oly if I initiate him to do so he sniffs alot he doesn't invite me to play he greets me but wid a bite I know Labrador puppies love treats I'm not using much treats while training I'm teaching ryt now d sit command
Re: Hello Teena Ann,occasionally Dexter gets a bit overexcited and he will still jump up at me......he does it less and less now because when he does it we say a loud firm NO!turn our back on him.....and give him no attention until all his feet are on the floor,if he tries again do the same on our back we walk away from him.Try this when Cooper bites you,it won't fix it straight away but doing it over and over again will help him learn its not acceptable.Dexter only chases me if I initiate it,if you don't run in the other direction he hasn't got anyone to run after so your are doing well with that together, you are right to initiate it. For me training a dog for the first time it has been vital that I have rewards .....I am sure it will really help you too, especially at the start.good work with the sit. Dexter has a loud bark,it can even make ME jump sometimes and I know him inside out .....but he stops when he knows who has come to his house or that there is no threat,it doesn't last for long
Re: Hello It's lovely to see you BOTH,you look great together, keep working with him Teena Ann,he will be a lovely dog if you spend time with him x
Re: Hello Yes I knw I will be joining work soon tats y I'm worried so much Cooper is not lyk Dexter he is very stubborn even if we ignore nd walk away he wants to do d same but I'm not gonna lose hope I'll try my best nd work things out wid him Tc hugs to u nd Dexter
Re: Hello Ah Teena Ann every dog is different, and lovely in their individual ways. don't think for a second that Dexter doesn't have his little stubborn ways...some days he can be a right mischief maker,he's a bit older than Cooper but he did everything you describe.will you have someone to take over and look after him when you start work?what is your plan? X
Re: Hello Teena Ann, what a lovely photo of both of you . I am so pleased that you want to do your very best for Cooper, pups can be very hard work , they want lots of play but also training and this is best started when they are very young . We all want to support you as much as posssible .
