He looks nice and bright in that photo Teena. Pippa is right - only pedigree puppy food, water available at all times, and a visit to the vet for worming. Then he should be fine.

    Re: Hello

Hi Teena, the brown hairs could be simply discolouration due to shedding or moulting. Especially if he is spending quite a lot of time in the sunshine. Try not to worry about the colour.

The main thing is to get some good quality food into him. I should have mentioned in my previous post that you will need to increase the quantities of pedigree puppy food gradually.

As he is only used to having it once a day, a sudden increase may upset his tummy. I would give him very small feeds of the pedigree today and tomorrow (four or five meals a day), then increase slowly over the next week until he is having the amount recommended on the packet.

Let us know how you get on at the vets.

    Hi Teena,

You need to feed your puppy four times a day. And once you have increased the quantity of pedigree puppy kibble, he will not need rice or milk. If you read the packet that the kibble comes in, it should tell you that it is a complete puppy food and contains all the nutrients that your puppy needs.

Can you have a look at the packet and check that this is what it says?

Labrador puppies are often hungry, but puppies with worms get very hungry indeed. His worming tablets will help with this.

    Your safety

Are you saying your puppy bit you? If so, I assume you are you worried about rabies?

Teena, we can't advise you on these matters, you will need to talk to your doctor and your vet to discuss the possibility of infection. It will probably depend on whether the puppy broke the skin.

    Aggression

All puppies bite. This is perfectly normal. It has nothing to do with worms. They also growl and bark when they are playing. This does not normally indicate aggression. There is information on biting on the website here .

But, remember, that we are in England. There is no rabies here, and no serious risk from a puppy bite, even if a puppy did penetrate the skin. No-one here has ever seen a puppy with rabies, so we could not tell you how he would behave. All we can tell you is that all puppies bite and growl.

For proper advice on the subject of your bite and your fears you must talk to local medical professionals who understand your situation. They will probably advise you that you are fine. But we cannot do that.

Teena Ann I'm worrying about you and little Cooper... :( do you have any friends that have experience with dogs that can come by and help you?i think you sound like you need somebodies support..im totally out of my depth to help you with training issues ,and i dont know what your training goals are.I might get shot down here but i think you need to concentrate on getting him healthy before you start worrying about training, take things a step at a time, although the biting is obviously a concern.....have you been able to take him to a vet today?
What is the biting like,I missed a lot of it with my dog as he was 5 months when he came to us but even now he can still do what I think is 'mouthing' on us ,only rarely mind but its when he gets a bit excited playing he will 'bite' ie jaws close on us and it can hurt a bit,if he catches a fleshy bit....i read to say a loud ouch and move away and ignore him, this mimics what one of his litter mates would do only they would do a yelp to tell him he has gone too far..it always worked,he used to look so sad too that it was hard to ignore him for the few minutes it took for him to calm down....I haven't got the experience to tell you if Coopers is normal puppy mouthing/biting or something to be more worried about.....I just feel you could really benefit from somebody actually there with you that has some experience with dogs and I hope that could be a possibility for you? X

Teena, the biting is completely normal for a puppy of his age. Just say 'no' firmly and turn away from him - he is only trying to play with you like he would with his brothers and sisters. He will grow out of it, but it will take a few weeks.
