I shouldnt think it's a huge problem for Cooper. The birds might not like it too much though!

Oh Teena Ann,I bet he is.....he's a gun dog, birds are his favorite things ,he must be loving them being within his reach :D.....I'm not sure if the birdseed will do him any harm,I wouldn't have thought so but if its bothering you,the birds or Cooper can you just pop the cage up on a box or a table to put them out of reach of him ?Puts the seed out of the way of temptation for him then.send us another pic when you can, haven't seen him for a while,I couldn't get you video clip to work x

    Hi Teena Ann,

Just an uninformed opinion, but perhaps it takes awhile for the deworming medication to work? I wouldn't worry about it too much - and if you are really concerned, call the vet!

He's a baby Teena, with a little round belly. Don't worry so much. If the vet says he's ok, then you can relax. :D

He can't sweat Teeana, so dogs have to cool down by panting and letting their tongues hang out, especially when it is hot and they have been running around. Puppies also often vomit, but if you are worried then get him to the vet, fast.

    Re: Hello

Teena, it'd be much better to look at training as a thing that you do with your pup, rather than something you pay someone else to do for you. The reasons are that:

    • - it takes a long time to train a dog to be a good member of the family - a short period of training with a professional is not long enough
      - someone may train your dog for a week, but you still know how to keep it up over the dog's life
      - you don't know about the method that someone else might use with your pup - it might not be a good experience for your pup. Some trainers may use harsh methods
      - using positive training methods is a great way to build a wonderful bond with your pup :)
      - dogs can learn for their whole lives - if you understand how to train your dog, you can teach them all kinds of things, for their whole lives. Knowing how to train a dog is a great skill to have :)

Training really isn't hard :) Can I ask whether you have read any books on training?

But, to answer your question, if your dog spends a week or so with a professional trainer, I do not think that they will become more attached to the trainer than they are to you.

    Re: Hello

Teena Ann ,have you tried YouTube yet for some tips?that might help you .but you know even if you had a lot of experience and been successfully training Cooper from the day he arrived, you would still not have success all the time because he is a puppy.you can teach and teach him to sit and he'll do it......then later that same day You'll ask him again and it will seem like he has forgotten.....we just have to stay soooooooo patient with them and keep doing the same thing over and over again......and then the next day over and over again.
What Rachael has said is absolutely right, but If you feel out of your depth coping with him,and there is a trainer that you would feel comfortable with and will handle Copper in a way that you want ,maybe they could come and do some training with YOU and Cooper?Dont give up yet though and hand him over to someone else.
Hes only a baby Teena Ann....if he bites you or hangs of your clothes, this is normal puppy behavior, all of us have had it......you have to tell him no,ignore him /give him a time out for a couple of secs in his area and then let him join in again,he's just getting overexcited.what toys does he like ? X

TeenaAnn,he's lovely .....he will be a good dog if you just give him plenty of time .....he will learn if you stay patient with him and commit to learning yourself as much as you can about training.
Have you got a quiet place in the house where it can just be you and him and you can teach him to sit with some of his favorite food?x
