    Welcome to the forum Lesley!
    Is this your first lab?
I can't recommend the Happy Puppy Handbook highly enough to prepare you for the onslaught!
She looks a real cutie in your avatar!

    Thank you jac
We have had a Golden Retriever before but not a Labrador but my daughter in law has a 5 year old Labrador that I walk.
Thanks for the tip on the book, will get that book a.s.a.p. before we bring her home.

Hello and welcome! Lab puppies are cute as buttons, complete terrorists and monsters that will have you pulling your hair out at least as much time as you spend laughing at them. Get past the first couple of years (yes, years) and you’ll have your soul mate. I look forward to seeing pictures :)

Welcome from me and Xena in Wellington, NZ.

Definitely do a lot of reading, I wasn't prepared for the reality of a Lab pup and it caused a very difficult few months.

A bit welcome from Maxx and I in Sydney, Australia. I echo Sophie's advice, we had some very unhappy times when Maxx was little as we were not prepared for the hurricane with teeth. But your patience and persistence will be so worth it. He is 7 months now and still cheeky and naughty but so loving and we just adore him to bits :)

Hello and welcome from me, Wispa (6) and Tuppence (4). It’s very exciting having a new puppy (she looks rather like Wispa did at 6 weeks). Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by the five year old lab, though!

Hi Lesley, welcome to the Forum, I have 2 year old Cassie. Your puppy looks so adorable.

I echo all that has been said about the early weeks and months with a Lab, and that in time the make the best of companions.

Train for a lie in, and you'll get a lie in :)

Hi and welcome from me and 4 year old girl, Harley. She looks so cute. Any ideas on names yet? I too recommend the Happy Puppy book, it has so much useful information in it and I wish it was out when we got Harley.

Hello from me and Pepper who’s now 14 weeks.

I can definitely recommend The Happy Puppy Handbook and also Total Recall.

Lie ins are so overrated, it’s much nicer to be up at 6am every day!

    :)
