My wife and myself are recently retired....We both had Dogs in our homes as kids, but due to work commitments never felt it was fair to have one since.

We are doing Due Diligence on Labrador-Retriever pups..... we are fit , active and lucky enough to live on the Norfolk Fens....we look after our 18 month old grandson a few days a week and a couple of grumpy free range chickens!

    Q1 Dog or Bitch?
    Q2 Puppy crate? or Full-size ?

    Regards Chris

Hello and welcome. You will get many opinions on dog or bitch. I have had both but find bitches generally easier, in my view. I would go big a big crate and add a divider than can move as your pup grows. We added a bit of mesh with some cable ties. Worked for us, but if you want a pup by your bed to start, you will probably need a smaller one. Fun times ahead.
