I am sorry if this sounds silly. I am totally new to clicker traing, dog trainging( even to dogs ) . I am loving the learning process with Rocky.
Back to question, I have charged my clicker, he looks for treat when I click. Started with sit, he sits the moment he sees clicker and does not move !! How do I get him to move so I can teach him something else like heel ? He looks at me like I am crazy when I move around so he can get up !! For him , clicker in my hand means he should sit until I am done with treats . What did I do wrong?

You haven't done anything wrong :) He just thinks the clicker is the cue to sit. Have you taught a verbal or visual cue to sit?

The next thing I'd teach is the drop or down, which you can do with him in the sitting position (but once he knows it do it from a stand as well so he doesn't think it has to start with a sit). Use a treat to lure him to the ground. Put it in front of his nose and lower the treat straight down to the ground, holding it under your hand. Wait till Rocky starts to lower himself down a bit then click (clicker in other hand) and treat. You may need to be patient for him to do this - just wait and don't repeat your downward hand movement. Practise this till he's lying down following your hand movement. Then switch from using a lure to a reward - have your hand empty and do the downward movement again, then when he lies down (be patient!) click and give a treat (from pocket, treat pouch or wherever - just not the hand you used for the downward movement). The downward movement is your visual cue or hand signal. Once he's lying down reliably to this you can add a verbal cue ('drop' or 'down') just before you give your hand signal.

Teaching him other moves, with cues, will show him that the clicker isn't special to a sit and that your verbal or visual cue is what matters :)

Your dog is actually learning two things. One was the sit which he did pretty quickly the other is he's learning to learn. So try different things and he'll soon catch on to try different things to see what you want. Just don't set the bar too high to start with and have fun :)

You didn't do anything wrong, he will get used to you doing other moves with him and rewarding with click/treat. Twiglet was the same for a while and thought I wanted a 'down' every time we started training! She still defaults to 'down' when we start learning a new command :)

Be sure to have the treat not on your person some of the time or he may start to check you have a treat before working! I put them in different places each time so she knows she needs to work wherever the treat is. When she's really 'got' the move I don't treat every time. This helps to strengthen the drive to work.

Don't worry, I had a similar problem to begin with! At training, the first thing we learnt was 'watch' (the dog must give you eye contact but it doesn't matter if that's standing, sitting, walking etc. as long as they're giving you eye contact). Unfortunately Ella thought that 'watch' meant 'sit' which became a little tricky when we tried to watch and walk to heal!

Don't stress though, Ella started to understand and grew out of this quite quickly so I'm sure you'll have no problem with Rocky ☺. Great work on getting the training going so early, I'm sure it will pay off (well that's what I'm hoping for us too ☺).
