Hi my 11 year old lab can no longer jump into the car boot and is terrified of the ramp. I bought ramp and have it in kitchen for last 2 weeks with treats in centre and chairs either side so he has to walk onto ramp he will do it after some time but I have tired in car last 2 days absolutely no way he will try using it. I’m at a loss.

You can read more about our forum guidelines here. 11 is a ripe old age to be learning something new - it's possible, but it just takes a lot of time and patience. If you can afford them, a more familiar alternative to a ramp might be some folding steps instead.
Hi Sharon From your description, the presentation of the ramp has altered too much for the dog to work out what you want. Flat in the kitchen and at angle to the car boot. You will need to teach him to walk on a slight incline and then gradually increase the angle. If you park down a steep drive, then the angle of the ramp to the boot will decline. In doing so, you can build up the dog's confidence. If the ramp is too short, then the angle will be very steep and for that reason he is unlikely to be able to use it when the car is parked on level ground.
