Hello everyone, I have a beautiful male black lab puppy "Bailey" who is now almost 16 weeks old. I also am dealing with the biting and Im trying to lessen it by either giving him something else to chew on immediately, or if he just wont stop, giving him a "time out" locked in my bedroom for 5 mins or so. But my real concern is how he constantly goes after my sons little pom chi dog who is almost 3 yrs old. Bailey was the same height as "sandor" at 8 weeks and they did play together in the yard, chasing and biting at eachother. But now, Bailey is twice as big as Sandor and when in the house, Bailey continuously goes after Sandor, biting at him and overpowering him. When they are outside, Sandor will try playing with him, biting back at him, but also has room to run away from him, but in the house, Sandor is more trapped with nowhere to run away fast. Sandor has started to growl and show his teeth more at bailey and has given him a few good bites, but Bailey doesn't seem to learn by that. Im very concerned that Bailey could really hurt Sandor as his legs and body are so tiny now compared to Bailey. I know bailey isn't trying to hurt him, but my son now has to grab his dog constantly and take him downstairs to "save" him from Baileys "attacks", so Sandor can hardly be upstairs in same room as Bailey now. We try to intervene immediately when Bailey is "attacking" Sandor, telling him "No" and trying to distract him with a toy, but Bailey wants to play but is getting too rough now with his large size. Any suggestions on how to teach Bailey to play "nicer" with Sandor?
I like an answer to this question too as I have a male Gerberian Shepsky who is 6 lbs heavier than his sister.
