Hi to everyone. I'm so glad I found this site, I wish I'd found it 2 1/2 years so when we adopted our 10 month old black lab, Amber. We had a variety of problems, although we've had dogs for over 20 years now, usually 2, and it wasn't really anything we hadn't dealt with before. Our current dog family is a 9 year old rescued collie/lab type cross, Toby, and Amber, a black lab who is approaching 3 and 1/2. We've had mostly rescue dogs of various types, and a Welsh Springer in the past. I'm mainly here because we are giving serious thought to another lab, a choc puppy, little girl, and I'd appreciate some advice before we take the plunge. So I'll go and see where's the best place to ask my questions, and I look forward to getting to know you all.
Re: Hi everyone Hi there! I just moved your topic on to here but see you have done another. I deleted the duplicate one for you though. Welcome to the forum Jac and Lilly - 4 year old black lab girl
Re: Hi everyone Hi and welcome I gave Harley who us my first ever dog. She turned 1 a few weeks ago and is amazing Feel free to ask any questions
Re: Hi everyone Welcome from me Helen, Hattie 7 years and our rescue boy Charlie 3 years. Ask anything you like, I would have been absolutely lost without all the lovely forum members who have helped me no end with Charlie who has shall we say been a 'hand full' xx
Re: Hi everyone Welcome ;D I have had three dogs and found them no problem, no real difference from having two. Your dogs' ages are ideal for the introduction of another puppy. However, this is only my opinion and experience; others may have quite different views.
Re: Hi everyone Hello and welcome. I had two dogs for many years, and although I just have Poppy now, I know I'll have two again at some point. But personally, I think three dogs would be too many for me. That doesn't mean it couldn't work for you, though!
Re: Hi everyone Hi from me, Wispa (nearly 3) and Tuppence (a year old in a few days). We have had three dogs over the past few years, but now just the two. We had Wispa as a puppy when Amber, our collie cross, and Callum, lab-look-alike-but-bit-of-everything, were getting elderly and we didn't want to find ourselves suddenly without a dog. Previously we had a bigger age gap, but now once again I have two with only a couple of years between them because my sons thought Wispa was lonely when she became the 'only dog'! Amber and Callum accepted Wispa very well (especially Callum, the older dog) and Wispa learned a lot from them.
