This is Meeka, a mix, about 15 weeks. She is currently driving us insane, meeting with a trainer on sat. I've never experienced the level of crazy and nippy from a pup before. (our first Lab-ish). I'm hoping we can reel her in before my girlfriend throws one or both of us out. [IMG] [IMG]

Oh she is just gorgeous! Welcome :) Good luck with the training, my boy is 11 months and a constant work in progress but it's well worth it :) The crazy biting should stop pretty soon, it usually subsides around the 4-5 month mark and Meeka is nearly there :)

Hello and welcome to the forum! That biting stage is perfectly normal, if rather unpleasant. She'll grow out of it in time, don't worry :)

I hope it goes well with the trainer. Please let us know how you get on. A word of warning, if s/he starts talking about "dominance", "alpha", "being the boss" or anything similar, you need to find a different trainer. Here's an article that explains more: http://www.thelabradorsite.com/dog-dominance/

Welcome from Holly and me in Wales. Biting is normal at that age. When they nip say "NO" and ignore them. they quickly get the message that there's no play when they bite. There's a good article about puppy biting on the website:

Thanks for the tips. I will be aware with the trainer, there is much conflicting info out there. We've been trying the ignore thing, it's tough sometimes when she is jumping and biting regardless. Time out in her crate calms her quickly, it's hard to get her in without getting torn up in the process though. We also see conflicting info about what sort of exercise at her age and how much. I'm hoping she'll someday be a good mountain biking and hiking partner.

    Welcome from me and Lilly,
Steep learning curve is a frequently used expression. Also "stick with it", and "this too will pass". Have you noticed? :D
Meeka is really cute, and I LOVE that photo with the horse.

Love that horse and pup photo!

Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie from Manchester UK :hi:

Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's four years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German.

Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab who is eight months old.

I have always tossed a few bits of kibble into the crate - my puppy used to automatically go in then. She now just goes in there at night and I still put a few treats in there - she expects it!

Hello sweet Meeka - beautiful photos. You say "lab-ish", do you know what she's crossed with? I have a German Shepherd x Lab, Coco.
